Wash your corset by hand, with glycerin soap, preferentially on a hot day, so that it dries quickly. Never put it in a washing machine or in a spin drier. Don’t twist it, just press the corset lengthwise to take out the water, and let it dry naturally. Never try to fold your corset or iron it.
- Styles in leather or varnish must be cleaned with humid cloth and get some air from time to time. You can also apply body moisturizer on leather to recover shine and softness, or use specific products to preserve those materials. Synthetic varnish corsets can be washed occasionally.
- Styles in brocade, pure silk or embroided must be dry-cleaned by reliable dry-cleaners with experience in this kind of item.
Avoid using the corset directly on the skin, especially for long periods. The use of liners helps protecting the skin from friction and your corset from perspiration and bodily residues. Protect your corset with a cloth bag when putting it in the wardrobe, and don’t pile up other pieces of clothing on it.
Styles having pre-molded bulge require special care: some of them have a metal structure across the inside to keep the cleavage firm. Be careful not to deform this structure and always adjust it as soon as you wear the corset, to have a beautiful dressing of it.
